A gang of eight notorious armed robbers Operating in Afram Plains Area has struck again.
The armed robbers wearing masks and wilding shotguns and cutlasses attacked passengers traveling from the Volta region to Donkokrom in the Afram Plains North District through Agbedeke shores of the Afram River.
The incident specifically occurred on Apeabra – Asempaneye portion of the Donkokrom to Amamkeakrom.
According to a former assemblyman for Donkorkrom Electoral Area Yaw Vidjei, several passengers were attacked.
He said the robbers shot at the first vehicle but the driver failed to stop after which they hijacked a motorbike which was following the vehicle to mount a road blockage before robbing other vehicles amid gunshots which hit a 50-year-old passenger who is a stroke patient.
A Hyundai H200 with registration number GT 7615-10 was shot several times damaging the windscreen while the occupants were robbed.
The injured 50-year-old woman has been admitted at the Donkokrom Presbyterian Hospital.
