Embattled former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Benard Allotey Jacobs has cautioned flagbearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama to be careful of people around him if he (Mahama) indeed wants to win back power.
He has however commended the Special Aide to the former president, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, and other two for their committed unconditional support to President Mahama over the past years.
Reacting to allegations against him (Allotey) of describing the flagbearer as corrupt on Accra based Peace FM morning show, Mr. Allotey Jacobs admonished Mr. Mahama is not corrupt and that, there is no way he (Allotey) would make such a statement.
“I know all these allegations are coming from some people within my party because they want to paint me black in the eyes of John Mahama” he insisted.
Meanwhile, Mr. Allotey Jacobs has been suspended by the leadership of the party over comments the party claim is diminishing the image of the party before the 2020 elections in a statement signed by the National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
