Former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin has disclosed that the Ghana Premier League currently lacks exciting players as compared to previous years.
According to him, Premier League clubs cannot boast of players who have exceptional qualities that can convince football loving fans to troop to the stadium during match days.
Speaking to Bryt FM, Yamin said, “The Ghana league does not have exciting players, however, it is difficult for a Ghanaian supporter to even mention the first 11 of Kotoko or Hearts of Oak because the players at their folds now are on and off. They are not exciting”
“The players lack some qualities as compared to that of Charles Taylor, Don Bortey, Ishmael Addo’s and others era. If a player scores today it will take him two to three games before scoring again’
“So I think that has derailed the rise of the league because when fans go to the stadium they don’t get what they want now” he ended.
