Bryan Acheampong, a flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that he would excited if the former Ghanaian president supports him in the NPP’s presidential primaries.
He firmly refuted rumors that he had the backing of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo but will extremely excited when the later does so.
In an interview with Channel 1 TV in Accra, he said that “I will be very happy if he does. He has not told me, he has not said it anywhere, but I am campaigning throughout the country.”
One of the five candidates for the New Patriotic Party flagbearership is Bryan Acheampong, Ph.D.
He believes that the NPP had a candidate issue in the 2024 elections, and as a result, he wants the party to select a different candidate for the 2028 elections.
According to Bryan Acheampong, Ghanaians can pardon the NPP for their transgressions, just like they did the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2024. However, if the party chooses not to replace the candidate, they will continue to lose.
