A political communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Queku Abeiku, has bared his teeth at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for believing the NPP are going to face a major division in their party after their flagbearership election.
According to him, the NPP are very united after their elections as they believe togetherness is the only way to win them power in 2028.
In an interview with Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney, he highlighted that the NDC went unopposed in some elections but still received “no” votes.
Using the 2023 primary between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong as an example, Abeiku claimed that the NPP is a party that supports democracy.
“For the last 20 years, NDC hasn’t had a proper primary like ours which makes them lack experience and that’s something they have to be worried about. The NDC thought there was going to be chaos in our party adfter the elections but nothing of that sort happened and we are ready to face them in 2028”.
He advised the NDC to focus on unity rather than trying to cause division in the party, saying they’re coming strong with their flagbearer for the presidency.
He further criticized what he described as “TIA tricks” within the NDC, arguing that the party’s recent internal processes lack genuine competition and transparency.
“When it comes to the NDC and their TIA tricks, it’s quite funny. The NDC went to the polls, and even then, there was no real contender. His Excellency John Dramani Mahama was the only option, yet even in a yes or no vote on him, we still recorded a ‘no’ vote,” he said.
