The Municipal Chief Executive for the New Juaben South Municipality, Radford Owusu Boakye, has urged persons living with disabilities who received support items from the assembly to make good use of them and take proper care of the items.
Speaking during the donation exercise, he explained that the items were provided to help improve the lives and livelihoods of the beneficiaries. According to him, anything given to support individuals, whether money, refrigerators, laptops, or other equipment, must be properly maintained and used for its intended purpose.
He stated that beneficiaries should avoid misusing the items and instead use them in ways that would positively impact their lives and businesses.
The MCE further noted that the President of the Republic of Ghana is committed to supporting persons with disabilities and ensuring that they are not neglected in society. He said the government remains dedicated to improving the welfare of vulnerable groups across the country.
He explained that the distribution exercise is being done in batches to ensure that many people benefit from the support. According to him, about four batches were carried out last year, and those who did not receive items in the current batch should remain hopeful because they would be considered in subsequent distributions.
Mr. Radford Owusu Boakye concluded by encouraging all beneficiaries to appreciate the gesture and make productive use of whatever support they receive, no matter how small it may be.
During the event, various items were donated to persons with disabilities within the municipality to support their economic activities and daily lives.
