A Deputy Director for Nursing Services (DDNS) Nurse Manager at the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua, Mrs. Philomena Mireku has been appointed the new National Women’s Director for The Church of Pentecost.
Deaconess (Mrs.) Philomena Mireku who is Wife of gospel legend Elder Kwasi Mireku Jnr. replaces Deaconess Grace Yeboah-Asuamah who has served two terms for eight (8) years.
Meanwhile, Deaconess Vivian Amfo of Kaneshie area has been appointed as Deputy Women’s Director replacing Deaconess Margaret Osei who also served two terms for 8 years.
These appointments among many others were made in the just ended 44th Council Meeting by the Church.
The Church also elected Seven (7) persons to serve on the decision-making body of the Church -Executive Council.
The new entrants are Apostles Sylvester Arhin (Assin Foso Area Head), Dr. Dela Quampah (Head of the Theology Department, School of Theology, Leadership, and Missions at the Pentecost University), Mike Etrue (Kaneshie Area Head) and James Raj Sundaram (India National Head), who is representing the nations outside Africa on the Council.
The old members whose mandate was renewed for another 5 -year term are Apostles Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng (Hohoe Area Head), Samuel Osei Asante (Koforidua Area Head) and Isaac Kotei Djani (Tamale Area Head), all re-elected to serve another 5-year term on the Council.
The newly elected members replace four members who are retiring. They are Apostles Emmanuel Anthony Owusu (Canada National Head), Apostle David Tettey Tekper (Achimota Area Head), Joseph Assabil (Takoradi Area Head), and Apostle Mike Obeng Andoh (Sunyani Area Head).
The Executive Council is headed by the Chairman of the Church and executes policies and decisions of the General Counsel. While its members are elected by the General Council, the Executive Council is responsible for the callings, transfers, appointments, etc. of ministers and other high-level officials of the Church, with the approval of the General Counsel.
