Former Western Regional Football Association (RFA) chairman, Kojo Yankah has taken a swipe at the Member of Parliament of Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong after the latter claimed he will not invest in football because delegates failed to elect his candidate George Afriyie.
The business mogul recently indicated that he will no longer invest in football as he promised some years ago since delegates and club officials failed to elect George Afriyie as the President of the Ghana Football Association.
Dreams FC owner, Kurt Okraku defeated George Afriyie who served at the Vice President of the association under the embattled Kwesi Nyantakyi to win the presidential spot during the October 25, 2019 elections held in Accra.
Kennedy Agyapong had earlier gone on record and pledged to invest in football at George Afriyie’s birthday party two years ago but has said he will no longer invest in football because his candidate lost the elections.
But the outspoken football administrator in an interview with Skyy FM says it’s unfortunate for him (Kennedy) to make such comment.
“Since I started doing football, it’s been almost 30 years and Kennedy has never supported football before. So why has he come out to say since we did not vote for his candidate he won’t support football when he hasn’t even supported football before”
“He cannot dictate to us as to who we should vote for”
He has therefore entreated him to retract his statement if he really said that.
