The Eastern Regional Police Command has this dawn deployed about one thousand Police personnel to provide security for the Parliamentary Primaries in the Eastern region on Saturday.
The election will take place in 15 Constituencies while 12 other Constituencies will acclaim candidates who went unopposed.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Police Command Sargeant Francis Gomado told mybrytfmonline.com that special deployments have been made for four identified hotspots in the region.
The Deputy PRO said the Police will be the only body to be a charge of security that no other group will be allowed. He however said other sister security agencies may come in as and when the need arises.
He called for effective collaboration between the Party and Security to ensure a peaceful election.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold Parliamentary Primaries across the country to elect Parliamentary candidates for the 2020 polls this morning.
Meanwhile Constituency Executives of New Juaben South one of the hotspots have assured a peaceful election.
Addressing the media on Friday in Koforidua, Isaac Adjabeng the Constituency Secretary said issues surrounding the delegates register have been resolved there expecting 582 delegates vote peacefully in 35 designated centers.
He said it will be an offense for any delegate to capture pictures in the toll booth.
They have pledged to support any candidate who emerges victor to help maximize votes of the party in New Juaben South.
