The general transport petroleum and chemical worker’s union of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) have threatened to take legal action against the government to demand salaries for all the union members of the metro mass transit limited.
The union which has enthralled upon the workers to call off an initial set down strike while they negotiate with the government says the government has failed to honor its promise to settle its staff.
The general secretary for the transport petroleum and chemical worker’s union of TUC, Fusani Iddrisu says the workers are ready to lay down their tools again.
“We are noble and we know the labor laws of this country I think the laws of this country gives room for action that will be taken that can be termed as illegal action we will go through the process and make sure we use legal means to address our issues the workers are threatening to lay down their tools,” he tells the Citi business news.
He said the 5 days’ period given to the government ended yesterday.
