The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), President Akuffo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to judge him by his competence rather than age.
According to him, the Presidency doesn’t matter about age but competence and ability to work hard is the most important thing to consider.
Inaugurating the South African branch of the NPP on Saturday, at Illovo in Johannesburg, Akuffo Addo indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) attempt to play the age card to secure victory in the upcoming election hence their (NDC) plans will never succeed.
The 72-year-old President averred that it’s better to sustain the so-called old man (Akuffo Addo) than to vote the so-called young man (Mahama) into power again to lead the country to the ditch.
Akuffo Addo asserted that President Alassane Ouattara and President Muhammadu Buhari are all older than him, but they are working extremely harder to shape their country.
“Let this be the generation that saved Ghana, so that, one day, when the history books are being written the children will say ‘it was in our grandparents’ time, when Akuffo-Addo was president, that we changed the fortunes of our country,” he said.
Akuffo Addo, however, advises all party members and Ghanaians as a whole to put their shoulders to the wheel and assist the NPP government to push the elephant into the Jubilee House.
