Ghana international, Gideon Mensah is close to joining Portuguese outfit, Vitória Guimarães from Red Bull Salzburg in the ongoing transfer window.
According to reports, fellow Portuguese side, FC Porto who were keen to sign the Ghanaian has dropped their interest leaving Guimarães in pole position to snatch him as talks have reached an advanced stage.
The “Dragons” decision to withdraw their interest in the player bound down to the fact that their left-back Alex Telles who was a target of Manchester United has chosen to stay.
Mensah played on loan at Belgian club Zulte Waregem last season where he assisted two goals in eighteen Belgian Pro Jupiler League games
The budding Black Stars left-back whose contract with Salzburg expires on June 30, 2024, is also a transfer target of Anderlecht, Genk, Monaco and a host of other teams.
