Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, NPP’s NASARA Coordinator has categorically told the National Democratic Congress in the face that Muslims don’t deserve mortuaries but rather deserve a running mate.
His response comes after the flagbearer of the NDC and former President, John Dramani Mahama in their campaign emphasised on building over 300 morgues for the people in the Zongo communities across the country when elected again into power come December 7.
According to Haruna Futa, such idea is unreasonable but rather the Muslim community in the country deserve a running mate, not mortuaries and has advised the NDC to come again on that promise.
Haruna Futa made said this during an interview with an Accra based radio station.
“Morgues are not part of the things we need in our Zongo communities. If someone should go to the field and ask the people who reside in these places, you will realize morgues aren’t part of the things they will ask for. Zongo deserves better. Mr Mahama has failed the Zongo community when President. Looking at what the people in these communities have done for the NDC since 1992 to 2020 and it hurts much that the NDC can’t give one us one Muslim running mate. But rather thinks getting us a morgue is the best, which is bad”, he stressed.
