Constituency Organizers of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, in the Eastern Region have vowed to begin an intensive and vigorous campaign to secure resounding victory for the Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama and Parliamentary candidates of the party.
The Constituency Organizers are hopeful their strategic campaign into the December 7, 2020 polls will yield positive results maximizing the vote margins of the NDC in the Eastern Region “that would shock the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the region.”
They made this declaration at a strategic capacity building workshop organized by the Party at Akyem Nsutem in the Eastern Region.
The NPP polled 626,893 votes representing 63.11% while the NDC garnered 355,798 representing 35.83% in 2016 Presidential Election.
The Eastern Regional Secretariat of the NPP is however targeting 1 million valid votes cast in the region and at least 30 out of 33 Parliamentary seats but the NDC say its agenda to secure half of the valid votes cast in the region is still on course.
Speaking to the media, the Eastern Regional Organizer of the NDC, Hackman Kabore said, the workshop was crucial to empower the Constituency Organizers in the region with new Campaign dynamics at the grassroots.
He said the NDC is a grassroots party, therefore, charged the Organizers to make use of the resources available to campaign to secure victory for the party on December 7, 2020.
“Logistics will soon come but the little one available must be used. NDC is a grassroots party. They should go to the grounds, enter every corner of the campaign. Our strategy into this election is unpredictable because in 2016 we made our strategies out in Agenda 50/50 which our opponent was able to marshal themselves against it.”
