President Akufo-Addo has described Kwasi Amoako Attah, Minister of Roads and Highways who also doubles as Member of Parliament for Atiwa West, as the best performing Road Minister in the history of Ghana’s governance.
Speaking at a durbar held in the Akwatia Constituency on the 3rd day of his working visit to the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo succinctly stated that “when it comes to road development, Hon. Amoako Attah has done a yeoman’s job in the past two years. If we look into the history of Ghana relative to road infrastructure development, no Road Minister can match up to the sterling performance of Hon. Amoako Attah”.
“He is such an outstanding Minister who has made sure that in all the 16 regions in Ghana, massive road development is going on in earnest”, President Akufo-Addo has said.
According to the President, the massive road projects being constructed across the country under the Ministry of Roads headed by Hon. Amoako Attah is visible everywhere, adding that “these road projects are not Green Book roads”.
The government declared 2020 “The Year of Roads” and has thus, invested heavily in the construction of new roads, upgrade of many deplorable roads among others.
In less than 4 years, the Eastern Region alone could account for 1,615.11km of roads being constructed, which when fully completed will significantly improve the economic viability of the region and boost agriculture.
