An aspiring member of parliament (Independent) in the Fanteakwa South constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr Ayisi Gyan Stephen says Fanteakwa South will be mortgaging their future should they vote for the incumbent Member of Parliament and parliamentary candidate for NPP Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum popularly known in the constituency as Arafat in the upcoming general elections.
According to him, to vote for Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum will be the biggest mistake Fanteakwa South could ever make since he has nothing better to offer the teeming youth and the residents at large.
Mr Ayisi Gyan Stephen has challenged the incumbent Member of Parliament and parliamentary candidate for NPP Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum to name just one project in any community he has used the MP’s common fund for.
He said if the MP is able to name any project from his common fund, he will peacefully step-down as an independent candidate for him.
Mr Stephen Ayisi Gyan who is contesting the seat as an independent candidate made this known when speaking to Bryt Fm News desk.
“You sit on television and claim the youth in Fanteakwa south are lazy and all they do is prostitution and smoking. Even if it’s true, do you think the youth will do that when they have jobs?” – Stephen Ayisi Gyan asked rhetorically.
Moreover, he recounted a couple of projects in the constituency which are projects from the central government but not the MP common fund.
“The police station recently commissioned in Bosuso is from the central government. The ongoing CHP compound at Nsutam is from the one constituency, one million dollars. Strongholds of the NDC are also benefitting from such projects. If the MP can come out and point to only one project from his common fund, I will step down” – Stephen Gyan maintain.
Stephen Ayisi Gyan formerly an astute member of the ruling NPP has been the vice chairman for the fanteakwa South constituency for 8 years before taking a decision to contest on the independent ticket.
Stephen Ayisi Gyan urged the youth within the Fanteakwa South to massively vote for him as the MP and Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo coming general election for development and social interventions.
