The ruling New Patriotic Party slogan of ‘Four more for Nana’ is to be changed for ‘Eight more years for NPP’, Chief of Effiduase in the New Juaben North Municipality, Nana Okoawia Dwomo Baabu has proposed.
According to the Nifahene of the New Juaben Traditional Council, the achievements of the Akufo-Addo led government cannot be compared to any government in the history of the country, hence the need to extend the NPP mandate eight more years.
“I think the 4 more for Nana slogan should rather be replaced with ‘8 more years for the NPP’ due to the party’s performance over the past three and half years” he stressed.
Nana Okoawia Dwomo Baabu also stated that the comparison between incumbent President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is illogical considering the state of the economy the duo came to meet in power.
He added, President Akufo-Addo came to meet a broken economy as compared to Dr. Nkrumah who was left with lots of money from the country’s colonial masters, Britain.
Again, he emphasized that he has been following politics since 1947 and can say on authority that the Akufo-Addo led government has performed very well in managing the affairs of the economy.
The chief made these remarks at a sod-cutting ceremony to construct an ultra-modern edifice for the New Juaben North Police Command under the ‘one million per constituency’ policy by the government at Effiduase.
