The Electoral Commission of Ghana has sworn -in new electoral Officers as part of the preparation for the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
The officers are management, Returning, and Deputy Returning Officers.
At the induction ceremony held Thursday at Accra Metropolitan Assembly Hall, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission Jean Mensah congratulated the officers on their appointment having gone through rigorous screening and interview process.
She thanked them for availing themselves to serve mother Ghana.
She charged the officers to uphold integrity, transparency, fairness, and hard work in the discharge of their duties.
Some 15 million Ghanaians will head to the polls on December 7, 2020, to elect a President and Parliamentarians.
This year’s election is very crucial as the Presidential Candidate of the largest opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama is staging a comeback after he was defeated by current the President Nana Akufo Addo of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in 2016 elections when he was seeking reelection for the second term.
