Four Presidential candidates have expressed worry about insecurity in the Country and they are calling for a change of New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress in the December General elections.
According to them, these two Political Parties since 1992 have failed to address insecurity in the country because they have no plan and have politicized the security of the state.
Speaking at Minority Political Parties debate organized by Imani Ghana and Joy News, Brigitte Dzogbenuku, flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) attributed Insecurity in the Country to political interference and said her administration will allow them to be Independent and equip them to be on top always.
On his part, All People’s Congress presidential candidate, Hasan Ayariga also expressed worry over politicization of the state security and revealed that his administration will seek for Academic requirement into the Security Services and will charge them to introduce a database of all Ghanaians to identify crime through fingerprint arrest and prosecute criminals.
He also expressed worry over the lack of enough Petrol Team in the Country.
Meanwhile, the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), candidate, Mr. Kofi Percival Akpalu said his administration will address insecurity by creating jobs and unemployment package. He noted that most people turn to be criminals and armed robbers due to job.
Speaking at the same debate, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet flagbearer for the opposition Convention People’s Party (CPP) said Ghana’s Security Agencies lack direction and strategy to fight criminals.
He said the CPP administration will Invest massively in the Security services and give regular training and provide needed resources to the Security Agencies.
