Three persons believe to be family members were retrieved dead last night from a Private Saloon Car crushed by Fuel Tanker Vehicle.
They were extricated after two hours of joint Police and Fire Service operation.
Mybrytfmonline.com reported on Thursday evening that a fuel tanker vehicle had fallen on a private Saloon car at Chop bar area near the Excel Filling station in Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.
The driver of the private car who was trapped but alive then was heard gasping for air as he called for help.
“Help! help me, help me,” an eyewitness said.
According to Bryt FM’s Senior Correspondent Kwaku Ansah, an eyewitness narrated that the accident occurred when the fuel tanker transporting petrol towards Nsawam direction was crossed by a motorbike, which the tanker driver tried to save the rider but lost control of the steering wheel, crashed and dragged the private saloon car before crushing it.
He said it took officials of Ghana National Fire Service and Police hours to extricate the victims and prevent an explosion.
The bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at the morgue.
