The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe is commonly known as Abronye DC has ardently told customers of Menzgold to forget of being paid and that president Akufo-Addo will never pay them.
According to the loudmouth politician, paying customers of the defunct gold company (Menzgold) will be unlawful for any government to do so. Explaining that the gold company happened to be an individual business and releasing state funds to pay aggrieved customers of the company won’t make any sense.
Abronye DC said this during an interview with Hello FM in Kumasi.
“For me, if the NPP decides to pay customers of Menzgold, I will cease campaigning for the party”, he seriously said.
His comment came when responding to rumors stating that the NPP is shielding the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1).
The flagbearer of the biggest opposition party in Ghana, Mr. John Mahama during his campaign has promised to pay customers of Menzgold when elected into power come December 7 and also has accused the NPP of shielding NAM1.
“What is so special about NAM 1 that Akufo-Addo is shielding him? Why do you unleash the police on innocent customers while NAM 1 walks free”, Former President John Mahama asked rhetorically.
The defunct Gold Company (Menzgold) was asked to suspend its activities in 2018 by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a thorough investigation of its operations.
