A High Court building has been commissioned in Odumase Krobo of the Eastern Region by the Chief Justice of Ghana, Justice Kwesi Anin-Yeboah on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
The Chief Justice was joined by Konor of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite II, and other dignitaries for the brief ceremony.
The Odumase-Krobo High Court is located in the premises of the Old GNTC, at Korletsom.
This brings to two the number of high courts in the Krobo area. The first one was commissioned at Somanya in March 2017.
Commissioning the Court building, the Chief Justice, Justice Kwesi Anin Yeboah said the Odumase High Court will bring Justice Delivery closer to the doorsteps of the people.
High Courts are parts of the Superior Courts in Ghana’s Justice System.
A High Court has original jurisdiction in all civil and criminal matters. It also has appellate jurisdiction in appeals from the District Court and criminal appeals from the Circuit Court. It has supervisory jurisdiction over all lower Courts in the country.
