Communications Director of Ashantigold Eric Karikari says they are getting ready for the upcoming 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
The domestic top-flight league is set to start on November 13 after six months of inactive football in the country.
The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic halted all football activities; however, some clubs on their return to pre-season training for the forthcoming season expressed worry about the fitness level of their players.
But according to the PRO, his outfit will ready before the commencement of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
Speaking to Koforidua based Bryt FM, he said, “We are getting ready for the season. The playing body headed Thomas Duah are doing their best to get the players in good shape for the campaign”
“Some players will farm out on loan from the team due to playing time. We are also preparing to unveil our new signings before the season starts”
“We are hoping to beat Karela United in our opening game to send a strong signal to other clubs about our intentions to win the league,” he said.
Ashantigold will take on Karela United in matchday one of the GPL.
