Asante Kotoko board of directors has invited the Chief Executive Officer of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah to an emergency meeting in order to explain certain happenings in the club to them.
According to Asempa FM, the board is not happy with the numerous acquisition of players in the just-ended transfer window and has, therefore, asked him to appear before them and explain things to them.
It could be recalled the Life Patron and owner of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II banned the club from signing any player for at least a season.
But in the just ended window, the club signed about eleven players which include, Razak Abalora, Andrews Kwadwo Appau, Patrick Asmah, Fabio Gama, Mubarik Yusif, Abdul Latif Anabila, Evans Adomako Wiredu, Kwame Opoku, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Emmanuel Sarkodie.
However, he has been summoned to appear before the board and justify why he made those signings.
The board is also expecting him to explain the benefits in the numerous partnership agreements he’s signed after assuming office as the CEO.
The sources also indicate the board is requesting the CEO to give the financial breakdown of players that exited the club before the closing of the transfer window.
The meeting has been slated for Friday, November 6, 2020, in Accra and will subsequently delve into their preparations ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
