The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has said that the banking sector clean-up is one of the major mistakes of the NPP government.
According to him, the government’s careless decision taken in the banking sector has shaken the economy negatively.
In an interview with Abusua FM in Kumasi, the former leader wondered how the government will sink 22 billion cedis to clean-up the system when it had the opportunity to salvage the crisis with some 9 billion cedis.
To him, the reckless decision by the NPP government has made many people lose their job and the collapse of businesses.
The flagbearer of the NDC described the action of the NPP administration as “unthinkable”.
As part of his efforts to restore confidence in the banking sector, Mr. Mahama affirmed that the consequences of the clean-up were very huge.
