His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has announced that all national flags should fly at half-mast. He has also declared a 7 day State mourning for the passing away of former president J. J. Rawlings today November 12, 2020 Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra at the age of 73.
He made this statement in a press release in relation to the passing on of the First President of the fourth republic.
The President has also directed that all campaign be suspended for the next 7 days starting from Friday, the 13th of November to Friday, the 20th of November.
His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, on behalf of the people of Ghana, extended heartfelt condolence to his family, his wife and the entire populates of Ghana.
He also promises to work closely with the family to give the fallen soldier a befitting state burial.
