General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has urged the NDC supporters to dedicate a day to undertake a massive clean-up exercise in remembrance of Rawlings and route marches.
According to him, Rawlings was a servant leader and was constantly involved with people throughout his lifetime hence doing such exercise will praise him and will also make him (Rawlings) smile wherever he is.
Asiedu Nketia made this known at a vigil organized in memory of the late former President at Obra Spot in Accra.
He stated that the principles of Rawlings were good, but it will be powerless if they still are in opposition thus the best tribute to the late Rawlings is to be committed to the Rescue Mission.
Rawlings did many things to show that he cares for the fellow Ghanaians hence let keep on what he cherished most to exalt him.
“Corruption today is worse than what JJ fought against on the occasion of June 4th. Nepotism today is worse than what occasioned the June 4th revolution and it is time for us to end these acts,” he said.
Asiedu Nketia charged the supporters to come together to fight for the party’s victory because when they win the December 7 elections they can revisit the idea of June 4th becoming one of the national holidays.
