Black Stars goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has expressed optimism about the team’s chances in their reverse 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualifier against the Nile Crocodiles of Sudan on Tuesday afternoon.
Ghana is in cruise control in group C after recording a 100% success so far in the qualifying campaign.
Swansea City star Andre Ayew grabbed a sensational brace as the four-time African champions recorded a 2-0 win over the Sudanese in Cape Coast last week.
The Black Stars will battle the same side in the corresponding fixture in Omdurman, seeking a win to seal qualification to the tournament in Cameroon in 2022.
Prior to the game, Ghana’s ambassador to Egypt H.E Dr Nii Okine Hammond visited the team at camp and urged them to maintain their 100% record in the qualifiers.
However, Ofori, who is the second deputy captain of the team spoke on behalf of the team and assured him of a victory.
“We thank you for the visit, we know what you capable of because we were with you in Egypt and you supported us throughout the tournament so what we can assure you is victory”
“We played them in Cape Coast and we know what we are capable of, we can assure you, the guys are ready as you can see. Training went well, so the guys are ready and we will give you victory” he said.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper has been suspended for the game due to accumulation of yellow cards.
