Joy Daddy Multimedia a subsidiary of Joy Industries Company Limited in Koforidua has organized a one-day workshop to build the capacity of their staff ahead of preparation towards comprehensive coverage of the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The intensive training workshop was held at Baca Hotel in Koforidua on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Participants mostly broadcast journalists, reporters, producers, presenters, technicians, and volunteers were enlightened on the electoral processes as stated in the CI.126, accurate election reportage, and identification of fake news.
Joy Daddy Multimedia made up of Bryt FM – Koforidua, Aben FM – Koforidua, Jaydee FM – Ho, Swiit FM – Koforidua, Dadi FM – Accra, Lord FM – Sefwi Bekwei and Winners FM – Sefwi Essam, Aben FM – Kumasi, Bryt TV – Accra, and Mybrytfmonline.com will provide comprehensive coverage of the December 7 elections with experienced and dedicated staff as well as volunteers to be deployed nationwide.
The Managing Editor/Head of Current Affairs of Joy Daddy Multimedia, Solomon Kwaku Nuwordu, said the company is fully prepared for unprecedented coverage of the 2020 elections with the hashtag “#ElectionBridge”.
Similar training is expected to take place in Sefwi Bekwei of the Western North Region for other reporters (Northern zone) who did not take part in Koforidua.
He explained that coverage on the election will start on December 6 and ends hours after the declaration of the Presidential election results by the Electoral Commission.
“We want to assure our numerous listeners across the country that, we are going to deliver unprecedented and comprehensive on this year’s election. The election is crucial therefore requires crucial coverage which we are ready to deliver.” Solomon K. Nuwordu said.
He charged the staff and the volunteers to adhere strictly to the ethics of journalism in the discharge of their duties.
