Italian Serie A outfit Spezia Calcio have extended the contract of Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Gyasi.
The enterprising forward contract was extended to 2023 after an impressive performance so far this season for the Aquilotti side.
His contract was due to expire on May 2021 but he has committed his future to the club by signing another three-year deal.
The 26-year-old joined Spezia in 2017 from Italian third division club, Pistoiese and has been an integral member of the team.
He has played all nine Serie A games for the newly-promoted side this term, contributing one goal and two assists in the top tier.
“Spezia Calcio announces that they have reached an agreement for a contract extension with striker Emmanuel Gyasi, now expiring in June 2023,” the club wrote on their website.
Gyasi has played 83 games for the side and has contributed 14 goals in the process since joining the club. He played a key role in Spezia’s historic qualification to the Serie A last season.
He has pledged his international future to Ghana despite being born in Palermo.
