Legon Cities attacker Asamoah Gyan has said that he is impressed with the level of quality players in the Ghana Premier League.
Gyan played his first game in the domestic top-flight for the first time in 17 years for Legon Cities against Medeama in matchday three of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
The all-time leading top scorer for the Black Stars came on as a substitute in the 70th minute of the second half for Raphael Ocloo to make his debut for Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League.
His illustrious career started in 2003 in the Ghana Premier League where he played for Liberty Professionals.
As a teenager, Gyan scored 10 goals in 16 games. The numbers were impressive so secured a move abroad without completing the season.
Some sessions of Ghanaians have in recent times raised concerns about the level of quality players in the country. They believe lack of quality players is the cause of the unattractiveness state of the domestic top-flight league.
But the former Sunderland forward thinks otherwise.
According to him, he has seen a lot of quality players in the league and is of the view if they are more focus tactically and discipline outside the field they will go far.
“If we are able to be more focus on the field I think it will be good. We have a lot of quality players in the country. I have seen of good players although I don’t know their names I have seen a lot of good players and if they are more focus tactically and they are more discipline outside the field I think they can go far” he said.
