The National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, George Opare Addo has said the party is prepared to embark on ceaseless demonstrations that will cause unrest such as the Arab spring to bring the needed electoral reforms if their concerns about the just-ended 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections are concerned.
According to him, the irregularities and fraud which characterized this year’s election in unprecedented, and have circumvented the will of the people which must not be allowed to stand.
He charged the NDC Supporters to remain resolute to defend their rights as entrenched in the constitution of the country.
George Opare Addo said this while addressing hundreds of supporters of the NDC to climax a protest staged at Odumase Krobo in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region on Tuesday.
Mr. Opare Addo said even though the NDC is bent on going on all to protest against the election results it has no intention to burn market facilities which John Mahama led government invested so much to construct and rehabilitate contrary to claims by the NPP.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the opposition National Democratic Party (NDC) of the recent fires that destroyed some markets across the country.
A statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, John Boadu said, the development is a case of arson masterminded and carried out by the NDC as part of its protest against the outcome of the 2020 elections.
But the National Youth Organizer retorted the NPP if it was also behind market fire incidents recorded in 2013.
The Eastern Regional Youth Organizer, Okai Minta cautioned will continue to embark on a peaceful protest but will not tolerate acts of intimidation and attacks by the security agencies.
