A fire outbreak at Akyem Kwabeng Zongo in Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region has rendered a family of seven (7) homeless.
The fire allegedly caused by an electrical fault occurred on January 3, 2021, around 4:00pm.
“All personal belongings were destroyed through the fire outbreak and for our observation we notified it was an electrical fault which led to the outbreak.

Assessment by officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) revealed that “Items destroyed include sowing machine – 2
Television set – 1, Bags containing clothing- 7, Foam mattress – 2 and many other household items”
On January 1, 2021, five hundred (500) bags of cement were similarly consumed by fire at Akyem Kwabeng.
The inferno which gutted some other shops also destroyed 160 pieces of plywoods, barbering equipment, and other properties.
Personnel of Ghana National Fire Service doused the fire preventing it from spreading to other shops.
No casualty was recorded.
