A girl has died in a building collapse incident at Obuor Tumpan a farming community in Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region.
One other person in critical condition has been referred from Suhum Government Hospital to the Eastern Regional Hospital for treatment.
The incident was caused by a rainstorm disaster that hit the community.
“The rainstorm collapsed a residential building with four occupants; a couple and their two daughters. One daughter died on the spot and the other sustained serious injuries and is on admission at the Eastern Regional Hospital in critical condition. The dead has also been deposited at the same hospital’s morgue” a resident said.
Meanwhile, officials of the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, have visited the scene.
