Head coach of Legon Cities Bashir Hayford was unable to give an update on injured Asamoah Gyan after his side’s stalemate against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The Royals held the Phobians to a 1-1 draw at Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League.
Midfielder Jonah Attuquaye opened the scoring for Legon Cities after Abdul Umar Manaf had missed a penalty for the Phobians.
But Kwadwo Obeng Junior late strike ensured Hearts of Oak avoided a third defeat in a row against Legon Cities.
Gyan, who has been out of action for the past weeks after suffering a groin injury watched from the stands as Legon Cities shared the spoils with Hearts of Oak.
But Bashir Hayford, after his side’s draw declined to give updates on Gyan’s injury.
Asked when Legon Cities should expect Gyan, he said, “I have being telling time and time again to ask him, he comes to the field ask him because I cannot look at your face even doctors when you go they cannot look at your face and say your nose is paining you, no unless you tell him”
“But for me what I know is that I want him to be fit and I use him. I have being saying that no coach will get Asamoah Gyan and put him at the bench, no coach in Africa”
“So he is here ask him he will tell you whatever is happening but for me I will predicting and saying all sort of things that might not be true” he said.
