Two Members of the National Democratic Congress Communication Team in the Eastern Region have been engaged in a “Dirty fight” after one declared support for the re-appointment of Mr. Seth Oduro Boadu as Chief Executive for West Akyem Municipal.
The two officers, Samuel Okoh Agyeman, a former communications officer in Lower West Akyem Constituency, and currently a member of the Regional Communication Team and Mr. Benjamin Yamoah, Communication officer for Lower West Akyem Constituency have been verbally and indecently assaulting each other in Social media platforms after Mr. Yamoah urged President Akufo-Addo to re-appoint Mr. Seth Oduro Boadu as Chief Executive for West Akyem Municipal.
In response, Samuel Okoh Agyeman, a former communications officer in Lower West Akyem Constituency and currently a member of the Regional Communication Team alleged that Mr. Yamoah has taken a bribe from the MCE, adding in a Facebook wall that “Imagine such useless comments from a useless communications officer!!” We all know da money he took before dis’ God never sleeps!! Very funny”.
He added in a Political Parties WhatsApp platform that “Our friend wants to be popular so we will help him to be popular, we decided to meet him on his declaration so that Ben Yamoah tell us the amount he took for such move for the MCE who has been rejected by Asamankese chief but this Useless nokofia guy is supporting forgetting NDC is court challenging Election results.
Barely one week after Mr. Yamoah’s endorsement, the Constituency Executives, through the Secretary, Mr. Ben Owusu has issued a letter and suspended the Constituency Communications officer for three months and referred him to Disciplinary Committee for another action.
Responding to the letter, Mr. Ben Yamoah said” I have started the process to go to court and summon my colleague (Okoh) to come and prove his bribery allegations but today you have seen a letter that I have been suspended but the party does not have such power and energy to suspend me”.
According to him, the NDC Constitution says at least two-thirds of Constituency Executives must hold a meeting to decide on any accusations before referring the case to the Disciplinary Committee for voting but eight-core executives only has no power to suspend him.
Mr. Benjamin Yamoah added in audio posted in Political parties WhatsApp platform created by Asamankese based Nkonim FM that “My friends, let me tell you something today, some time ago, I don’t fear anyone on this Earth, if you kill me today you cannot kill me tomorrow, we are here in this Constituency and some executives took Bulls and other items, chairman and some people attempted to take ¢10,000.00 from our PC and told us that former Constituency chairman is also in the race but these men were not suspended, so many issues have occurred so I will come out later for more, but my suspension does not carry weight.”
