Head coach of Legon Cities Bashir Hayford has said that his outfit will be ready for the start of the Ghana Premier League second round.
The domestic top-flight league has been on break since March 6 as the Black Stars prepare for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
The Black Stars as part of their preparations engaged the Royals in a friendly match on Wednesday which ended 3-1 in favour of Ghana.
Kwame Opoku, Mubarak Wakaso and Salifu Moro scored the goals for the Black Stars before Asamoah Gyan reduced the deficit for the Ghana Premier League from the spot.
Speaking after the game, he lamented it was a good test for his players as they prepare for the second half of the season.
“This was a very good test for us. We have a lot of positives to take from the game. We will continue to work and be ready for the start of the second round. Asamoah Gyan showed his class as usual.”, Bashiru Hayford told the club’s website after the game.
The Royals managed to finish 15th on the league table with 19 points after the first round of the league.
The second round of the Ghana Premier League is scheduled to commence on Friday, April 2, 2021.
