Mybrytfmonline.com can confirm that the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region Michael Okyere Baafi has been nominated as one of the deputy Ministers designate for Trade and Industry.
Mr. Okyere Baafi who is the immediate past CEO of Free Zones Authority is said to have impressed President Akufo Addo with his performance at the Authority hence giving him a new challenge to help the government’s trade, jobs creation, and industrialization agenda.
Mybrytfmonline.com source indicates that President Akufo Addo held a closed-door meeting with Okyere Baafi on his nomination last week and tasked him to give off his best to help his government.
President Akufo-Addo has also picked Herbert Krapa as a Deputy Minister-designate together with Michael Okyere Baafi to support the sector Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng.
The former head of the National Petroleum Authority, Alhassan Tampuli has also been nominated as the deputy Transport Minister-designate while John Kumah and Abena Osei Asare-Atiwa East MP have been nominated as the Deputy Ministers designate at the Finance Ministry contrary to hopes of many in New Juaben South that, Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah could be a Deputy Finance Minister.
The Member of Parliament for the Sekondi constituency, Andrew Egyapa Mercer has also been nominated as a deputy Energy Minister-designate.
Assin South Constituency MP, John Ntim Fordjour has been nominated as Deputy Education Minister-designate while MP for Akwapim South Osei Bonsu Amoah is heading to Local government Ministry as a deputy.
Meanwhile, Charles Adu Boahen who was appointed the President’s representative at the Finance Ministry has been nominated as the Deputy designate Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
