The Asamankese circuit court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams has sentenced four men to 8 years imprisonment in hard labor for causing harm to a policeman and escaping from police custody in Oda.
Each of the four men will serve two years and they are; Yaw Gyimah,30 years, Michael Kumi,30 years, Samuel Otu,19 years, and Kwame Baffoe,22 years.
The court also ordered Michael Kumi to reappear on 17th June for another count.
Prosecution officer Richard Mekposigbe told the court that the accused persons caused harm to a police officer; Frederick Anokye who was serving 19 suspects in Oda police custody where the four men jailed violently punched the police officer and escaped.
The policeman called for help and he was rushed to Oda Hospital for treatment and later, the accused persons were chased and arrested for prosecution.
