Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Malik Akowuah has said that he will not rule out a move to Asante Kotoko when the opportunity comes.
Akowuah became a transfer target for the Porcupine Warriors during his stint with Medeama but rejected the move to join sworn rivals Hearts of Oak in 2016 on a three-year deal.
According to him, joining the rainbow boys at the expense of Kotoko does not mean he does not like the club but believes all bound down to negotiations.
“As a player you can’t choose some clubs that you will only play for, as a profession it needs to be treated professionally “Negotiations between you and a club is what would want you play for”
“I chose to play for Hearts of Oak due to negotiations but that is not to say I don’t like Asante Kotoko SC or wouldn’t want to play for them”, he told Kumasi based Wontumi FM.
“I’m willing to play for Kotoko, why not if they approach me. We are all working so when the opportunity comes sure I will play”.
He was part of the Hearts of Oak team that lost in the MTN FA Cup final against rivals Kotoko back in 2017.
Malik Akowuah is currently without a club.
