Two robbers who broke into a shop at Akuapem -Mamfe in Akuapem North Municipality in the Eastern region on July 4, 2021, and took away 60 mobile phones and 4 Flat screen Television sets have been arrested in Ho in the Volta Region.
The two suspects -Nervis Otu Laryea and Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak have confessed to Police their involvement in breaking into the electrical appliances shop in Mamfe -Akwapem in which they bolted away with 60 different pieces of mobile phones, and four flatscreen TV.
The investigator and the shop owner have since gone to the Volta Regional CID Headquarters to identify 27 of the stolen phones retrieved from the suspects by the Police.
The two suspects together with another accomplice Ebenezer Osei,38, were arrested on July 6, 2021, by the police Rapid Deployment Force patrol team along Kpando-Have road onboard a Toyota Corolla with registration number AC 1621-18.
The Public Relations Officer for the Volta Regional Police Command Sergeant Prince Dogbetse told Mybrytfmonline.com that, a search by the patrol team found three (3) foreign pistols with 40 rounds of 9mm ammunition, laptops in addition to the 27 mobile phones with price tags on them as well as two hoody pullovers in the car.
They have been remanded into Police Custody to reappear before the court on August 17, 2021.
Meanwhile, the arrangement is being made to hand over the two suspects to Akuapem -Mamfe Police to assist police in investigating the burglary case against them.
