The Suhum MCE Margaret Darko Darkwa went on a tirade of vicious insinuations after a fake list containing names of alleged Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) nominated by President Akufo Addo popped up.
The MCE who was holding a meeting with some Assembly staff and heads of committees at the Assembly’s conference room abruptly ended the meeting upon sighting the fake list and started jubilating.
She allegedly entered various offices at the Assembly insulting almost all the staff she perceived to be against her bid for renomination.
Shockingly, the MCE Margaret Darko jumped into her Nissan patrol 4×4 official vehicle, bought packs of powder and white handkerchiefs drove through the principal street of Suhum township jubilating and casting insinuations against supporters of other aspirants contesting to replace her.
The jubilation went as far into the night at her official residency with some of her supporters playing music, dancing, and drinking.
The fake list fooled many aspiring MDCEs in the region with many whose names were found in the list burst into jubilation with their supporters while those whose names were not mentioned became furious.
The Eastern regional executives led by Chairman Akomeng Kissi have since issued a statement stating that “The Eastern Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party under the able Chairmanship of Hon. Kiston Akomeng Kissi wishes to state categorically and unequivocally that the list being circulated on social media purported to be the list of Municipal and District Chief Executives of the Eastern Region is FAKE and must be disregarded.
The said FAKE MDCEs list is believed to be causing apprehension and uneasiness among some party faithful in the Region.
In some cases, the said the FAKE list has resulted in widespread and spontaneous jubilation among other Party Members in the Region.
The Regional Executives wish to use this opportunity to inform Party Members and the entire people of Eastern Region to disregard the said list on the social media and treat it with the contempt it deserves” The statement said.
