A 45-year-old farmer has committed suicide by hanging at Tinkong a Community in Akuapem North Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The deceased identified only as Donkor alias Odo was found hanging on an orange tree in a nearby house in the community Tuesday evening around 6:00pm.
He hanged himself with rope made up of a mosquito net intertwined with a rag.
The body has been conveyed by Adawso Police to the Tinkong Mortuary after taken inventories of the scene of the crime.
A witness, Maa Abena told mybrytfmonline.com that; the deceased was noticed hanging on the orange tree by some children who were playing football near the crime scene.
He said the late Donkor became very sick and was almost bedridden for some time but his wife took him to hospitals and herbal centers until he recovered.
However, after recovering, he took to drinking alcohol addictively until his death.
The late Donkor left behind a wife and five children.
