The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams has sentenced a 24-year-old laborer, Hamid Torkane to two years imprisonment for stealing two Tricycles in Adankrono- Kade.
Hamid Torkane, the accused pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing and he was convicted two years each but will run concurrently.
Prosecution officer, Detective Inspector Wisdom Banson said on 23rd July 2021 at about 3:00am at Adankrono near Kade dishonestly appropriated one unregistered Luojia tricycle valued at ¢13.000, property of one Gladys Akoto.
The prosecution said on the same day, the accused again at Adankrono near Kade dishonestly appropriated one unregistered Luojia tricycle with registration number M-21-GE 6183 worth ¢12,000, property of Richard Ansah Baah.
According to the prosecutor, two accomplices of the accused are on the police wanted list.
He said they traveled from Accra to Kade on 22nd July with Internation to move from house to house and steal tricycles.
The prosecutor said the accused person and his accomplices after managing to steal two of the tricycles tried to run away but Hamid Torkane was arrested at Boadua Barrier while the others run away.
Upon Interrogation, the accused mentioned his accomplices and admitted the offense, and was sent to court for prosecution.
