Some aggrieved public sector workers in the Ashanti Region have planned to demonstrate on the streets over a 4% salary increment.
A statement by the Aggrieved Public Sector Workers stated that the demonstration will take place in the Ashanti Region on 29 September 2021.
“We are hitting the streets because the government has failed to listen to our plea to adjust the 4% salary increment to at least 25%,’’ the statement affirmed.
“Those that won’t be able to come should do a sit-down strike in solidarity with those on the demonstration grounds only on the said date,” the statement urged.
Aggrieved Public Sector Workers also called on other associations and unions who are equally dissatisfied and disappointed in the recent development to openly declare their support and join the protest in the metropolis.
