A 27-year-old woman, Rachael Tetteh, has been arrested by Akyem Tafo District Police Command for allegedly beheading the husband Daniel Lartey, 35, while on his way to the farm.
The bizarre incident occurred at My God Village at Tei Glover, a farming Community near Akyem Bosuso in Fanteakwa South District in Eastern Region.
Mybrytfmonline.com has gathered that a misunderstanding ensued between the couple and while the now-deceased husband was on his way to the farm, the suspect followed him closely, allegedly pushed him to the ground, and took control of his cutlass to cut off his head.
The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command DSP Ebenezer Tetteh explained that the Akyem Tafo Police upon receipt of information about the crime at 7:30am Sunday, October 3, 2021, immediately deployed the crime scene investigators to the village.
According to him, Police found the lifeless body of the deceased who was wearing ash trousers over a white T-shirt lying dead in the prone position in a pool of blood with his head cut off by his assailant and left at the footpath to the farm.
Police examined the crime scene and gathered all necessary information and photographed the crime scene and the decapitated body.
The body was retrieved and deposited at Akyem Tafo Government Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said, Police proceeded to arrest the suspect, Rachael Tetteh, who retrieved the cutlass she used to commit the heinous crime and locked her at the Akyem Tafo Police cells to assist Investigation.
The incident has thrown the entire My God Village at Tei Glover into a state of shock.
