The Eastern Region Council of Zongo Chiefs has held an emergency congress at Kyebi in the Abuakwa South District of the Eastern Region over LGBTQI+ issues and its associated matters arising.
The Eastern Regional president of the council of Zongo chiefs who double as Vice President for National council of Zongo chiefs Alhaji Abubakar Umar said, Islam abhors homosexuality therefore no attempt should be advanced to accommodate the practice in Ghana.
He said Muslim communities in Ghana will rise and resist any attempt to impose the abominable practice on Ghana.
Alhaji Umar stressed that LGBTQ+ will invoke the wrath of Allah, bring curses and miseries unto Ghana therefore urged Parliament to pass the anti- LGBTQI+ bill that seeks to criminalize the practice.
The Eastern Regional Moshie Chiefs Alhaji Amadu Mohammed hinted that Muslims in Eastern Region will not hesitate to embark on a protest soon against the waves of pressure on Ghana to accept homosexuality.
He said if homosexuality is accepted in Ghana, Muslim gays will end up marrying multiple gay partners which will create a mess in the community.
