The Eastern Regional Manager of the Food and Drug Authority (FDA), Samuel Kwakye, has stated that measures have been put in place to curtail expire AND unwholesome products from the market this Christmas season.
The FDA Boss has also warned consumers to be careful of products reduced drastically and purchase from accredited shops as we approach the Christmas era.
Speaking with Bryt FM reporter, Alex Asiedu, Mr. Samuel Kwakye expressed that the FDA is putting measures in place to cross-check expired products that have been released on our markets across the region.
He, however, cautioned that anyone caught with expired goods on the market will be sanctioned as the Authority is collaborating with other stakeholders to deal with culprits.
He further stated that as Yuletide approaches, the country’s market is filled with the most expired and unwholesome products including; soft drinks, cakes, biscuits, tin tomatoes, frozen among others with low prices to attract consumers.
