The directive by the National Steering Committee of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ban all campaign-related activities at its National delegates conference has been described as an agenda against aspirants.
It has been explained as a plan to market the Vice President, Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia ahead of other contestants vying for the presidential race of the party.
Ahmed Agbenyadzi, the deputy Youth organiser for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) insist it is also an agenda to shadow persons interested in contesting current executives in the party’s internal elections slated for 2022.
The National Steering Committee of the party released a communique this week banning all campaign-related activities at the venue of the delegates conference and that includes, removal of all billboards.
Commenting on the NPP’s delegates conference in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital on Friday, 18th-19th December 2021 on Bryt FM Ebesi Sen political show, the NDC Communicator stressed that the directive is to deny other aspirants the opportunity to have a chit chat with delegates on their visions and aspirations for the party.
“Abronoma, I am telling you that the directive is just to promote one person and deny others the opportunity to market themselves. The NPP is known to be a lawless party so there are no way amendments made at the delegates conference will even be adhered to by the same party leadership” he told the host.
Mr. Agbenyadzi added the NPP over the years has demonstrated to be a party of failure and insensitive, hence the introduction of the e-levy in the 2022 budget to make the ordinary Ghanaian suffer.
