Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is undoubtedly confident in the goalkeeping department of the national team ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations opener against Morocco.
The four-time African champions will take on the Atlas Lions later today at the Stade Ahmadu Ahidjo stadium, Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Goalkeepers selected for the AFCON tournament include Jojo Wolacott of Swindon Town, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen of Eupen, Lawrence Ati-Zigi of St Gallen and Hearts of Oak’s Richard Attah.
The goalkeeping quartet will be making their first appearances at the continental showpiece.
None of the selected goalkeeper’s has had the opportunity to feature at the AFCON tournament.
But according to the former Ashantigold and Legon Cities goalkeeper, he believes in the goalkeeping department despite Ghanaians raising concerns about their capabilities.
In an interview with Angel FM, Fatau Dauda said, ‘I still have believed in the team and most especially our goalkeeping department. I delivered in my maiden AFCON tournament so I will advise the four goalkeepers to believe in themselves and prove their worth”
“Whether we like it or not, these are the goalkeepers in camp and we must support them. The goalkeepers must know this tournament can change their life. So, they must work hard” he said.
